Aorta koartatsiyasi is a constriction of the aorta lumen, often occurring pre-ductal or post-ductal; commonly a stenosis. Patophysiology involves increasing proximal arterial pressure, raising left ventricular load and causing hypertrophy, leading to hypertension in upper extremities and decreased perfusion in lower extremities.
