Жанна д'Арк was born around 1412 in Domremy, a peasant who claimed to have visions of saints since 1425. She led the siege of Orleans in 1429 and ensured the coronation of Charles VII in Reims. Captured by the Burgundians in 1430, she was handed over to the English. Sentenced for heresy in 1431, she was burned at the stake in Rouen at the age of 19. Rehabilitated in 1456, canonized in 1920
