Gender equality means equal opportunities and rights for men and women. Uzbekistan adopted the Gender Equality Act in 2020. According to the 2022 Gender Gaps Report by the World Economic Forum, Uzbekistan ranks 122 out of 156 countries in gender equality. In Uzbekistan, women made up 45% of the total workforce in 2023. While boys and girls have equal enrollment rates in education, women only represent 30% of leadership positions. In 2019, women held 32% of parliamentary seats in Uzbekistan, showing a noticeable increase compared to the past
