Sumbar daryosi is a significant river in Central Asia, originating from Tajikistan and partly bordered with Afghanistan. With a length of approximately 345 kilometers, it begins in the Pamir mountains at an elevation of 3,200 meters above sea level. The river flows through the Vashqorv and Vodiki air basins and joins the Surkhob river. The total area of the Sumbar basin is around 12,000 square kilometers, making it a vital water resource in the region used for irrigation and hydroelectric power generation
