Erkin Vohidov was born on December 28, 1936, in the Fergana region. He was a leading representative of Uzbek poetry, portraying national traditions and modern issues in his works. Vohidov was awarded the title of "Hero of Uzbekistan" and honored with the Order "For Valiant Labor." He passed away on May 30, 2016
